Last weekend, we decided to head to Barnes & Noble to do some rsearch on children’s books. After checking the main kids’ section (which was quite overwhelming!), we thought to check the Christian books area upstairs to see if they had some easy-to-navigate shelves dedicated to children’s books. They did (we were glad to discover, which will hopefully help my children’s series that’s coming out), and as we walked around the corner of an aisle, we noticed a young-ish couple sitting on the carpet, studying a self-help book together.

We got chatting with the couple about what they were reading and then asked them if they wanted to hear some helpful thoughts. They were very friendly and open to listening, so for a long while we all sat on the floor and chatted about God’s Word, sharing our ministry experiences. We discovered that they were already water baptized and filled with the Holy Spirit, so of course, we encouraged them to pray in tongues even more often, and we encouraged them that as they draw nigh to the Lord even more, they will realize that they, too, have been anointed by Jesus with the authority to pray for other people to receive the infilling of the Holy Spirit, and to water baptize - just like the disciples in the Book of Acts!

It made our day to spend time with this lovely couple, and yet again, it reinforced that we should always expect the unexpected. That’s the first time we have been called to do God’s work on the floor of a huge book store! :)
