What is J.E.W.E.L. Living?

Please keep in mind that this J.E.W.E.L. Living section of our website is primarily aimed at those that are experiencing difficulties with their health caused by an indulgent and perhaps sedentary lifestyle, and/or with fasting. It purposes to provide as much information as possible for people to maximize their health, stimulate natural healing, and overcome fasting struggles. This section contains lots of information, so please review as desired and apply as much or as little as you feel moved to. Even if someone was to take on board a few changes within the scope of what they feel able to cope with, they will be sure to experience some positive results. So, take your time, enjoy, and lay hold as you feel inspired and able.

  • God designed food first and foremost to nourish our bodies, so nutrition should be our overall purpose to eating. God reminds us that our bodies are temples of His Holy Spirit with which He has most graciously anointed us (1 Corinthians 6:19-20) through the redeeming blood of His Son, Jesus Christ. It is therefore our duty to honor God by doing what it takes to bring our bodies into subjection and to follow after – from an “overall” perspective – those things that are profitable for our well-being (mental, physical, and spiritual), ultimately to His glory.

With this in mind, J.E.W.E.L. Living aims to educate, motivate, and inspire God’s children, to help those that are struggling to transform their lifestyles. In this way, they can begin to radiate health and vitality and, in turn, influence their spiritual productivity.

J.E.W.E.L. Living is also designed to help God’s children to bridge the gap between fasting struggles and fasting joys, so they can comfortably access the miraculous power of this God-given tool. Many people avoid fasting unto God because they can’t cope with the negative side effects it brings upon them. Yet, they do not realize that the source of their extreme discomfort is most often an unhealthy body.

While fasting and good health are by no means the answers to eternal life, they are certainly significant keys to a prosperous walk in the Lord. If you do not use all of the tools with which God has equipped you, and if you allow a very unhealthy lifestyle to sabotage your physical and mental well-being, so many other aspects of your life will be adversely affected, from your desire to pray and read God’s Word, to relationship harmony, to even confidence in expounding God’s Word unto others.

“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit” (Romans 8:1), so do not let your past be an anchor to forward progression. If you truly feel the Lord is leading you to recognize you’ve been neglecting these areas of your life (whether unwittingly or with knowledge) then simply rejoice and move forward as best you can. As Paul the apostle so wonderfully put it, “I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 3:13-14). This pressing forward incorporates all things that help us to draw nigh to God and be in tune with His Spirit, and thus remain on the path toward His kingdom. It does not require perfection; it simply requires our best effort as we learn, overcome, and grow.

J.E.W.E.L. Living is not about obsession, or the complete elimination of any particular foods. Rather, it’s about balance and focusing on what makes sense for our bodies as God’s creation. Too many of God’s children are put off from seeking good health and even from fasting because of “alternative” spiritual and extremist groups that often regard these things as a religion unto themselves. But as children of the living God, we must remember that fasting and taking care of our bodies originated with the Lord. We therefore must not let those who have distorted and overemphasized these practices rob us of the fruit that God designed for us to enjoy.

The J.E.W.E.L. Living five steps

J.E.W.E.L. Living incorporates five steps. It begins with the first two steps, and the last three steps build over the medium to long term.

GET healthy with fresh juices and our recommended super nutrition blend! This is the first step toward experiencing the power of J.E.W.E.L. Living.

Cleansing and nourishment through Juices and super nutrition

Step number one aims to help you purge your body of years of toxic build-up using a gentle but very effective combination of fresh juices, herbs, and bowel cleansers. At the same time, a super nutrition blend is added to juices to help flood the body with the many essential vitamins, minerals, and other nutritional elements that have most likely been severely lacking in your diet. These nutrients also assist in the elimination of toxins.

This first step can be followed for as long as you desire (a minimum of 5 days and up to 40 days) until you have reached your health goals, with the option of adding one “majority living foods” meal in the evening after an initial “liquids only” period. By introducing an evening meal, you can extend the juice cleanse to even longer than 40 days if desired (e.g. if you have serious health issues).

GET energized with our suggested workout plan. It’s simple, but it gets great results, fast, without encroaching upon your daily routine. Get it done in just 20-30 minutes per day!

Beginning daily Exercise

Step number two involves the incorporation of exercise into your daily lifestyle, preferably in the fresh air and sunshine (the three having priceless health benefits). Primarily, we encourage you to partake in types of exercise that suit your lifestyle and personal preferences (as this is the key to long-term maintenance i.e. the formation of good exercise habits). However, our website does offer suggestions – including a weekly plan – for those that desire some extra help. This includes a quick and simple, yet very effective full body weight bearing exercise routine (that is excellent for developing strength, muscle tone, and guarding against conditions such as osteoporosis); an efficient cardiovascular workout plan; and tips for exercising while traveling.

If your lifestyle does not yet incorporate regular exercise then simply begin by setting aside daily exercise time that focuses on enjoying God’s creation (your body, fresh air, and sunshine). Relish in the benefits this time brings to your life. Start with shorter periods of light, gentle exercise and then gradually increase the intensity and/or duration over a number of weeks.

GET closer to God as you begin to transform your life through the power of J.E.W.E.L. Living!

Enhancing your Walk with the Lord

When you begin to feel the positive effects of cleansing, super nutrition, and regular exercise, you will feel greatly inspired to strengthen your walk with the Lord (such as praying more often in the Spirit, eagerly studying God’s Word, and even sharing your testimony with others). Not that we promote cleansing, super nutrition, and exercise as pre-requisites to making efforts toward God, but we recognize their value in stimulating spiritual productivity.

GET to know and love the amazing benefits of prayer and fasting unto God. Want a boost in faith, wisdom, etc.? Looking for an answer to prayer? Try fasting and begin to unlock doors you’ve never before seen behind!

Beginning regular Effectual fasting

Step number four involves the beginning of water fasting unto the Lord on a regular basis, starting with shorter periods (even half day fasts) at longer intervals and then increasing at your own desired pace to a point at which you feel comfortable. The focus is not on abstaining from food, but rather on “effectual” (i.e. effective) fasting. This incorporates fasting with the mind-set of drawing near to God with the expectation of a positive spiritual result. This “result” will always be personal to the individual faster and may range from an answer to specific prayer, to a strengthening of spiritual wisdom, vision, and/or faith, to a heightened level of thanksgiving and appreciation toward God and His promises.

In no way do we encourage fasting to become a ritualistic practice. Indeed, fasting unto the Lord should be anything but a routine act. Nevertheless, because some of God’s children find fasting such a struggle and are, therefore, somewhat adverse to making the effort to use this precious tool, it’s helpful to compel yourself to overcome your hesitations by initially making fasting a scheduled part of your life.

GET an abundance of delicious living foods in you every day to transform both your body and your mind. Living foods are the first foods God so lovingly made for us to enjoy, and God has perfect wisdom, so He knows what’s best for us!

Developing a healthy eating lifestyle with a focus on Living foods

This last step involves settling in to a long-term healthy eating lifestyle that focuses on an abundance of enzyme-rich and nutrient-rich living foods (uncooked or very lightly cooked “whole” foods that are easily digested). For those in need of extra suggestions for transitioning from the juice cleanse to a healthy diet, we have provided a Two-Week Meal Plan with recipes to help you on your way. The meal plan is very simple and flexible, and it even incorporates “free meal” occasions!
