…my family and I prayed diligently in Jesus’ name and, after a little while, I felt a kind of “click.” I explained that it wasn’t a physical click; it was an invisible one as if I suddenly knew for sure I’d been healed.

I was born in August 2000. I was filled with the power of God’s Holy Spirit (with the evidence of speaking in tongues) when I was three and a half years old. When I was young, I always wanted to have the Holy Spirit just like my parents, but they would constantly reiterate that it was up to me to seek God and that I could only come to Him through Jesus Christ, God’s Son.

One day, I was in the car with my mother and my younger brother on the way to the store. I asked my mom if I could take communion at fellowship gatherings. She said, “Yes, when you’re part of God’s family.” She reminded me again that I needed to seek God for the anointing of the Holy Spirit and then I needed to be baptized by full immersion in water. She also reminded me that I’d know when I had received the Spirit because I would speak in tongues, just like the disciples on the Day of Pentecost.

So, I began to pray to God right there in the car, asking Him to fill me with His Spirit. Suddenly I began to pray in a new language. My mother didn’t hear me at the time because of the traffic noise and because she had the car radio on, but the next day I was praying for my brother who needed a healing, and at that point she heard me pray in tongues. She knew I had the anointing of the Holy Spirit. The next weekend I was baptized at home in our bathtub.

In my childhood years, I enjoyed praying with my family every day in the spiritual language God has given me. It was also reassuring to know there were solid answers to all my questions about life and that I didn’t have to be left wondering like my parents when they were growing up.

I was also miraculously healed from whiplash after a car accident. God saved all of us from being seriously hurt, and the police said that out of all the places on the long highway we could have run off the road, the area we did slip into was the safest of all. My dad ended up with just a scratch on the arm and I ended up with whiplash. It was extremely painful and I could hardly move my head. But, my family and I prayed diligently in Jesus’ name and, after a little while, I felt a kind of “click.” At the time, I explained that it wasn’t a physical click; it was an invisible one as if I suddenly knew for sure I’d been healed. I showed my family by freely moving my head around in all directions. I was only five years old at the time, but I remember being so amazed and happy, and so were my folks. This is just one of the many amazing things God has done in my life.
